What the Tide Brings In

CA$23.99

When the tide comes in, everything surfaces.

Maven Ryder is your classic over-achieving straight-A, Ivey-League bound seventeen-year-old. That is, until she finds herself waking up one morning on a Malibu beach with a dead body floating in the water in front of her.

For Mavin, her cousin Kiley, and their best friend Holice, this beach house getaway was supposed to be perfect: parties, tanning, movies, and long walks on the beach. But when they befriend Holice’s wealthy cousin Finnick—and his irresistible circle of friends—everything begins to shift. The six teenagers form an unlikely bond. Cousins reconnect. Friendships form. Secrets slip. Lines blur. And someone is lying.

Then one of them ends up dead. And not by accident.

As Maven begins to think back to the days leading up to the murder, memories start to blur and it becomes clear that not everything is – or was – as it seems. When the tide comes in, it brings everything buried to the shore, including secrets that were drowned years ago.

And this time, the tide doesn’t just bring in the truth. It brings a body.

SIERRA BENAYON-ABRAHAM is from Toronto, Canada and What the Tide Brings In is her debut novel. Sierra is currently completing her undergraduate degree at UCLA, and is the recipient of several state and national collegiate-level journalism awards. When she isn’t pretending to be a detective while writing and reading murder mystery novels, she can be found playing guitar, jogging, cuddling with her dog, or sipping the perfect chai latte. She hopes to have the privilege of bringing the characters in her head to life for years to come.
